Operations Data

For over 100 years, performance has been a top priority for SM Energy.

As of December 31, 2012, SM Energy had 293.4 MMBOE of proved reserves, representing a 40% increase over 2011. 53% of these proved reserves are oil and liquids, up from 47% in 2011. The majority of these proved reserves are associated with our Eagle Ford play in South Texas and Bakken/Three Forks play in the Rockies.

SM Energy achieved a 34% compounded annual growth rate in total proved reserves from 2010 to 2012.  Due to an increased focus on liquids-rich projects, oil and NGL reserves have increased from 35% to 53% of our total proved reserves.

Our capital programs have resulted in a 41% compounded annual growth rate over the last 3 years.

SM Energy produced 36.5 MMBOE in 2012, which is an annualized average of 99,700 BOE/d.  Driven by production growth in the Eagle Ford and Bakken/Three Forks, we grew our production ~29% when compared to 2011 volumes.
